When to apply
Applications for Medicare Australia’s Graduate Program can be submitted online from Saturday 15 March 2008. Applications must be received by midnight Wednesday 9 April 2008. Late applications will not be accepted.
Offers of employment will be made to successful candidates by 30 June 2008 who must be in a position to commence employment on Thursday, 24 July 2008.
How to apply
Medicare Australia has engaged a recruitment agency to assist in the graduate selection process.
Your application must include your.
- completed application form
- response to the capabilities questions
- summary of your academic results
- resume (including your name, contact details, employment history, education history, hobbies/interests and the names and contact details of at least two referees, preferably current or previous employers)

Selection process
Medicare Australia has adopted a five-tier approach to graduate selection to ensure we hand pick the best.
- A shortlist of candidates will be made based on eligibility requirements.
- Eligible candidates will be invited to undertake online testing.
- Further shortlisting, based on test results and responses to the capabilities questions.
- Shortlisted candidates will then be required to participate in a formal interview process and validation testing. Evidence of Australian citizenship must be provided at this interview.
- In the final stage of the selection process, Medicare Australia will contact your nominated referees to obtain a referee’s report.
Successful candidates will be notified by phone 30 June 2008.
